It's been five years since the OpenOffice.org community began its mission to "create, as a community, the leading international office suite that will run on all major platforms and provide access to all functionality and data". It's now one of the largest and most successful open source projects. As someone who has used OpenOffice.org on my Linux laptop for over two years, I can say that they have made tremendous progress.
