Oracle VP Maps Oracle's Cloud Computing During Cloud Expo Keynote

"We've been fairly quiet," said Rex Wang, VP of Infrastructure and Management at Oracle, this morning as he gave the Morning Keynote at the third and last day of the 4th International Cloud Computing Conference Expo at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
Wang was referring to Oracle's relative silence to date vis-a-vis Cloud Computing. His intention, he said, was to share with the assembled delegates Oracle's thoughts on the space...

According to IDC, Wang notes, Cloud-related spending constitutes only only 5% of total IT spending in 2009, which in four years will double to 10%...but even so, 90% will still be "traditional" IT spending.

Oracle was a Platinum Sponsor of the 4th International Cloud Computing Conference & Expo
Until now Oracle has been fairly quiet, Wang repeated, but Oracle's position and thinking is clear: Oracle wants to make the Cloud "fully enterprise grade."
Oracle already delivers Cloud services, Wang said; But Oracle will always give its customers the choice as to whether to use private or public cloud.
