NUREMBERG, September 10, 2009 – Open-Xchange, the most popular groupware for Linux with more than 3,500 installations, announces new data migration tools to easily switch to the latest-generation, Open-Xchange Server 6.
"The new data migration tools enable migration of users, groups, resources, folders, tasks, calendars, contacts and attachments,” said Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange. "This ensures a fast and easy switch to the latest product generation without any data loss.“
University hospital of Cologne, Germany, with their 6,000 groupware users was one on the first enterprise customers to upgrade using the data migration tools. "We did the complete migration on one weekend and on Monday morning, all users were able to log in with their known credentials at the new web-frontend. All their e-mail, appointments and contact information were available,“ said Alexander Mössinger, deputy CIO. "We got a lot of positive feedback from our users on the intuitive AJAX-based graphical user interface of the new Open-Xchange product generation.“
